Digital X-RAY Imaging

Digital X-Ray Imaging

Digital X-Ray Imaging has been a common diagnostic tool for a long time, and they continue to be helpful and effective for many reasons. Our imaging technology allows us to take digital X-Rays and immediately see the picture on a computer. This allows us to review the results right away and give you a faster diagnosis for your pain or health concern. X-Ray imaging can be done on any part of the body, while the patient is standing, sitting, or lying down. The film will be behind the body part being X-Rayed, while the “camera” is in front of it. X-Rays send a quick burst of radiation through your body, allowing us to see what your bones look like on the inside. While there are minor risks associated with digital X-Rays, they are generally considered safe and are more beneficial than harmful in most cases.

Orthopedic doctors and surgeons specialize in musculoskeletal injuries that occur in the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles after an auto accident. Neurologists and neurosurgeons are doctors who address problems with the brain and nervous system that cause pain or limited mobility. AICA’s experienced neurologists, neurosurgeons, and orthopedic specialists can precisely diagnose and treat various injuries or conditions that affect your quality of life. Get treatment for everything from musculoskeletal injuries to long standing neurological disorders and always feel confident that you’re in expert hands.
After a car accident, you want to put your health in the hands of professionals who know the best way to provide treatment. You need both experienced physicians AND top notch assistants to support them. At AICA, our physician assistants perform various tasks with diligence, from patient exams and diagnostics to managing treatment plans and offering advice. At AICA, every one of our employees puts your well-being first.

What Can Digital X-Rays Tell Us?

One of the most popular and effective diagnostic tools available, X-Ray imaging continue to provide doctors with great insight into the health of a patient’s body. Digital X-Rays are used to examine the health of teeth, search for a break in a bone, diagnose a dislocated joint, and identify arthritis. Since bones are so hard and dense, the X-Ray radiation is stopped by them, giving us a clear picture of what your bones look like. If you’re experiencing pain that you suspect is linked to your bones, a digital X-Ray will be the first step in the diagnostic process.

X-Ray Imaging Is For More Than Just for Broken Bones

While broken bones are the most common reason digital X-Rays are done, they can do far more than just detecting a break or fracture. X-Ray imaging can find the location of something that a child may have swallowed, and they can detect signs of tuberculosis and pneumonia in the lungs. X-Rays can expose tumors or masses and possibly even detect cancer. They can show doctors where they might be bone, joint, or spinal misalignments, which can help them trace problems back to the root cause of the issue. Our orthopedic doctors at AICA Orthopedics believe in whole-body health and comprehensive medical care, so we’ll be as thorough as possible in our diagnostic processes, and we’ll refer you to other specialists if we need a second opinion or if their services are better suited to your medical needs.

How is an X-Ray Used?

X-Rays are valuable tools that the orthopedic specialists at AICA rely upon to properly diagnose and treat pain and injury. Each specialty has a different purpose for utilizing X-Ray technology. For example, an orthopedic specialist examining knee or foot pain is going to use an X-Ray differently than a spine specialist looking to treat spinal injuries. But the importance of X-Rays for each specialty still remains. When you seek treatment at AICA, our specialists are sure to use X-Rays for determining the specific cause of pain and injury to guarantee you the most up to date, reliable treatment options available. Take a look at how X-Rays are used at AICA.

Orthopedic Spine & Joint

X-Rays are great tools for general orthopedic injuries such as sports injuries, arthritis, or broken bones. An X-Ray can identify breaks in bones or show signs of degeneration due to arthritis. Orthopedic surgeons can also use X-Rays to identify whether or not surgery is required to correct an injury or alleviate pain. Learn More about Orthopedic Spine & Joint

Chiropractic

With an X-Ray, it is easy for a chiropractic specialist at AICA to notice any joints or vertebrae that are out of alignments. Once located, chiropractors can perform adjustments to correct misalignment and alleviate pain Learn More about Chiropractic

Neurology

X-Rays of the skull and chest are often a normal part of a neurological workup. In an X-Ray, the white, bony part is what is shown. An X-Ray of the skull can be used to diagnose skull fractures, birth defects, detect calcification, locate tumors, or find infections. This is an important tool for neurologists, especially for ruling out any potential damage after a blow to the head or serious accident involving the skull or chest. Learn More about Neurology

Interventional Spine

Spinal injuries can be serious and must be handled with care. For this reason, interventional spine specialists utilize X-Rays to locate the source of the pain or injury and proceed with necessary treatment. X-Rays of the spine, neck, or back are performed to look for fractures or broken bones, diagnose and treat arthritis, locate degenerative discs, find spinal spondylolisthesis (slipped or dislocated vertebrae), see tumors, or notice abnormalities in the curve of the spine. Yesterday was my last day at AICA College Park since my accident in December, there is so much to say about the people who work here and the level of customer service, care, attention, friendliness, and overall amazing atmosphere that they provide. Location is perfect in College Park, right off the highway and in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The entire staff, from the front desk girls, to the physical therapy girls, to the chiros, and the medical team are AMAZING! I feel like I just lost my friends not being able to visit them twice a week every week. I will definitely miss coming here. All the smiles and warm welcomes received. The physical therapy - asking about my day, if everything is okay and helping my back and neck get better. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Hector as my chiropractor, he is awesome, was very helpful in the healing process and also a native Spanish speaker which is a plus for those of us who do speak Spanish. Before coming to AICA, I tried another injury clinic in ATL and walked out after 5 mins - so impersonal and cold. I am so glad that I found AICA in College Park. Trust me, if you are injured and need some healing and TLC you NEED to come to this clinic! Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the guys and girls at AICA - xo Ms. Colon
