Dr. Fielding Callaway is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in both surgical and nonoperative treatment of spine conditions. He has extensive expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic-assisted spine surgery, and motion preservation techniques, with a focus on providing the least invasive treatment approach possible for each patient.
Dr. Callaway earned his undergraduate degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia, before completing his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. While in medical school, he was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, followed by an advanced spine surgery fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Callaway is actively involved in orthopedic research and education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and regularly presents his research at regional and national conferences. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), North American Spine Society (NASS), AO Spine North America, and the Georgia Orthopaedic Society (GOS).
With operating privileges at the Atlas Surgery Center, Dr. Callaway is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered spine care.
