Signs and Information On Spinal Degeneration

LinkedInFacebookInstagramXPinterestYoutube

Knowing how to identify and respond to spinal degeneration is important for preventing long-term pain and chronic conditions from developing over time. As one of the most common back conditions that affect Americans today, over 65 million people experience lower back pain each year. Although many people try to ignore their pain or believe that it will pass with time, it’s important to contact one of our Atlanta Orthopedic Doctors if you experience lower back pain for more than two days.

Defining Spinal Degeneration

Spinal degeneration takes on a variety of forms and can affect anyone regardless of age or gender. Often referred to as disc degeneration, conditions associated with this concept tend to occur as people grow older since the blood that transfers to the spinal discs slowly diminishes with time.

If you are diagnosed with spinal degeneration, it does not mean that the integrity of your spine will necessarily deteriorate. With appropriate treatment, our Orthopedic Specialists can alleviate most, if not all, of the symptoms connected with this condition.  Our team of Orthopedists relies on non-invasive techniques that provide short and long-term pain relief for patients suffering from spinal degeneration.

When patients can receive a combination of deep tissue massage and regular adjustments, while also maintaining a healthy diet and exercising on a regular basis, you have the potential to avoid any back pain. However, if you do notice any of the following symptoms, contact your Orthopedic Doctor at AICA Orthopedics for an examination and treatment:

  • Sharp, consistent pain that exists in your neck, shoulders, back, or hips
  • Numbness
  • Tingling
  • Pain that accrues while standing, picking up objects, twisting your hips, or bending over
  • Muscle spasms
  • Inflammation
  • Stiffness
  • Inability to move

Yesterday was my last day at AICA College Park since my accident in December, there is so much to say about the people who work here and the level of customer service, care, attention, friendliness, and overall amazing atmosphere that they provide. Location is perfect in College Park, right off the highway and in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The entire staff, from the front desk girls, to the physical therapy girls, to the chiros, and the medical team are AMAZING! I feel like I just lost my friends not being able to visit them twice a week every week. I will definitely miss coming here. All the smiles and warm welcomes received. The physical therapy - asking about my day, if everything is okay and helping my back and neck get better. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Hector as my chiropractor, he is awesome, was very helpful in the healing process and also a native Spanish speaker which is a plus for those of us who do speak Spanish. Before coming to AICA, I tried another injury clinic in ATL and walked out after 5 mins - so impersonal and cold. I am so glad that I found AICA in College Park. Trust me, if you are injured and need some healing and TLC you NEED to come to this clinic! Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the guys and girls at AICA - xo Ms. Colon
